Travelers are reminded to pack an extra suitcase with donations when traveling
12/29/2004
Jim Berns, President of Travel Donations, is reminding all persons traveling out of country to pack an extra suitcase with items to be donated in their destination country.
"Children's clothing, school supplies, sheets, towels, socks, underwear, adult clothing, over the counter medications, all can be used by charities, hospitals, clinics and needy individuals in the country you are traveling to.
It is so easy to pack an extra suitcase with the donations and drop them off at a charity. I don't know why more people don't do it.
The recent tsunami has brought a surge in interest in helping those in the effected area and I want to take this opportunity to remind travelers that the need to help others is world wide," Berns said.
Jim Berns has just returned from delivering donations to the Mexican Red Cross in Tijuana and to a clinic in Lima Peru.
Travel Donations is based in Cincinnati Ohio and has sent donations to 16 different countries since its inception two years ago. For additional information see our web site at traveldonations.org or call 513-708-0815.
